Wondering bout One of the Local TV Show

Just now, I watched Extravaganza, one of TV show, comedy sketches. One of the sketches reminds me about another show, Termehek-Mehek. Termehek-Mehek is a like-reality show to me, not a real reality. I said that because every small part in that show is just like a crap, and a not real true situation.

One more thing I just wonder is that why people like those kinda show. It just telling a hyperbolic situation that might not come in reality, and the worst part is that it's just like too over in putting everything.

SEO: Self CEO's Alternative Way

Hi guys, anybody knows about SEO?

Frankly, I have no idea at all when I heard it quite a time ago. I know that you gotta be wondering how that word comes to my mind. Well, it began when couple days ago I was getting quite interested in online marketing, you know, simply said that you earn money by promoting something. For several observations, I found out SEO stands for Search Engine Optimization which is (if I may conclude) methods to make your websites famous through search engines. So for example if you google “Dogs”, your dog-lovers-themed website would apparently be the first one in the page if your website is optimized.

However, for your information, apparently I discovered that somehow SEO had been put into a competition. At first, if you have things common in mind with mine, I just don’t believe it either, but it’s there. This is one of it, this competition called Busby SEO Test. Yeah as you already know, this challenge (term the site used) will seek out who can gain the most top position on Google Data Center. Well it’s already begun on 10/1 this year and gonna ended on 1/31 next year. Well one of the competitors I noticed is Brokencode which seems to be in a team that created a SEO Competition blog.

Well I noticed that Brokencode is an expert in this SEO field. You really better see his site, cos you’ll find some interesting news and information. However, if I may give comments to his site, I think the sites might need some simplifications of the site’s elements a bit and/or some quite colors. That’s because I quite fond to see their team's blog. But overall, the links cool enough, though maybe some old stuff and dead links (download links) might need a disposal. For their competition blog itself, I thought everything’s cool to me.

Essentially I don’t know exactly how they’ll optimize but I’ll just crossing my finger to make a wish that their blog will win the challenge.

Meet Dave: just a bit, but a great it gave

Meet Dave, what a movie!

Well at first, I thought that movie is just another crap, B-movie, or sort of things. But I decided to keep watching, cos the later it got, I found out more attractive jokes and, maybe, like a lessons of life. And of course, Eddy Murphy is the star here, no question.

Meet Dave is a movie about a nation of alien in a quest of searching salt which they located in earth.
I cannot tell the rest for the sake of the not-watchings. And most surprisingly the alien is not as big as we are.

The technology shown is cool enough, though not like other top Box Office movies. Eddy Murphy's jokes is the center and the distinctive part of this movie. Like you know there're a lot of type of jokes, from Jim Carey's to Indonesian local, what people might say as a lame jokes, this movie offers you Eddy's.

Then, the plot is quite obviously unsurprising. You can guess what might come up next. And this movie is quite uncomplicated and not too detail in the story line but it's brilliant. It's brilliance come from the messages, including the implied ones.

I learn that we sometimes have a self inside our body, that might be good or evil. And size doesn't matter at all. Whether you're tiny or giant, nothing can change the fact that you're a being. You can't take it for granted. One quote I think the most catchy one is this:

The most powerful force in the universe often comes
from the smallest star.

After all, this is a recommended movie, in my opinion. It's quite relax and you don't have a to put efforts watching this movie (it's very opposite to Munich).

Gas Price Down (again) in 15/12.

Today, I watched TV breaking news and I noticed that the president held a meeting. In my first thought, I just shocked why president would like to held a meeting on a nice Sunday. Later, I found out that he held that meeting to talk about the gas price and particularly about the price set down. The meeting involved several minister, including Coordination Minister of Economics, Sri Mulyani Indrawati.

I thought that was obvious, and he should have done that earlier since the world oil price had down couple days ago. One thing to remember is that I should be thankful that gov't be responsive for the world's condition. But I hope that the gap time to consider the decreasing price was used for research about the causes of the events and the impacts of the regulations set.

But one thing attracts me. The goods price has gone up so high. Will it down? Will the regulations fix the mechanism? I hope the merchants, traders, and everybody will give positive responses to this new rules.

Just Joke... Interesting Though

Well first, I might warn you, this is just a joke, not something you have to bother and there ain't no intention to hurt or to disrespect some group of people. And I just want to share my point of view that is totally outside the context of the joke.

This is the email that I received in Bahasa:

Kira-kira satu - dua abad yang lalu, Paus memutuskan bahwa seluruh Yahudi
harus meninggalkan Roma, yang tentu saja kemudian menimbulkan keresahan dan
penolakan dari bangsa Yahudi tersebut.

Kemudian Paus menawarkan untuk mengadakan debat religius dengan seorang anggota komunitas Yahudi, yang mana jika orang Yahudi pilihan tersebut menang, maka bangsa Yahudi boleh tetap tinggal di Roma. Sebaliknya, jika Paus yang menang, maka bangsa Yahudi harus segera meninggalkan Roma. Bangsa Yahudi sadar, bahwa mereka tidak punya pilihan lain. In English it might sound like this:

About one or two centuries ago, the Pope decided that all the Jews had to leave
Rome, which initiated the restlessness and refutation from the Jews. This is the

The Pope propose to hold a religious debate with one of the
Jews, in condition that if that Jew debater wins, the Jews may stay in Rome. On
the other hand, if the Pope wins, the Jews have to leave Rome.

The Jews realize that they have no other options left. In that case, the pick one
man, called Moishe, as the candidate from the Jews. After that, Moishe offers
one term, to be more interesting, the debate should be conducted with no words
at all.

For that term, the Pope agrees. Then, the battle begins.
Moishe and the Pope sit in opposition. One minutes passed, then the Pope raises
his hand and points three fingers. Moishe looks at it awhile, and then he raises
one finger. Pope then cast a circle above his head. Moishe counters it by
pointing the ground. Then the Pope shows bread and a glass of wine. For that,
Moishe counters by showing an apple. Afterward, the Pope stands up and says, “I
give up. This man is tough. The Jews may stay.”

An hour passed, the Cardinal busily asked the Pope for what happened. The Pope says, “First, I raised my three fingers to show the Trinity. He responded by raising on finger to remind me that only one God for both of our religion. I cast a circle to show that God is around us. He responded by pointing the ground and showed that God is now with us. I showed my bread and the glass of wine to show that God will
redeem our sins. He then showed his apple to remind me the very first sin of
humankind. He got answers for everything. What can I do?”

Meanwhile, the Jews busily surround Moishe. “What happened?”
they asked. “Well”, he said. “First, he said that the Jews must leave in three
days. I said to him that not a single one of us were leaving. Then he said to me
that the entire city will be purified (cleansed) from the Jews. Then I affirmed
to them that we are staying.” “Okay, okay.. then?” they asked. “I don’t know,”
Moishe told. “He showed his lunch and so did I.”

Funny story ain't it? Kinda lame but that's that. However, one interesting view I got from this joke is that, when people talked in different terms, definition, or whatever it is, there must be a distortion. So lessons I got are when we speak, understand each other and speak with language which has the same meaning. One action might be translated differently from man to man.

I hope it's not the problem of ours, our country, our world, people...

Mandarin Spice: Nice

Mandarin Spice, name of a family restaurant in Senayan City, a mall in Senayan area in Central Jakarta. It's located across the Plaza Senayan. Mandarin Spice itself is located in the Lower Ground Level, it's in the corner.

The reason I eat here because of the discount for using BCA Credit Card, which the price was cut till almost 50%. Surprisingly and happily of course, the price cut also included the drink, not like other promotion.

Once I got inside, along with my family, I have to wait cos it's Sunday afternoon (you can imagine how crowded the mall is). However, it was only approx. 15 minutes to wait (maybe cos we got there at almost 2 P.M.).

The interior is for sure is Chinese, quite elegant, simple, all-red/maroon-items, and the rest can be imagined like other family restaurants.
Well we ordered Prawns with Mayo, Squids with Pineapple sauce, Broccolis, and the drinks.

• The best of these choices is the Prawns. Its taste is sweet, sour, and prawny of coures. It's crispy, makes it better. However, it's still like other's, maybe you can distinguished this one by its cakwe, it's a fried bread which fried until it get crispy.
• The Squids are hot enough, the taste is exotic. There're chilis, onions, pineapples, and the important ingredient-squids. The rest of the foods is okay.

Nonetheless, the service in term of waiting for the food was quite not good (maybe it because it's Sunday afternoon). We had to wait for the Squids for almost a half hour. But because their waitress and waiter is nice and so responsible for our table and most of others, I thought it was worthed enough.

My words for this restaurant: So Mandarin Spice, So Nice Enough.

007 - Quantum of Solace

• I've just watched this movie. A word for this movie is cool!

First, Daniel Craig leaved the image of Brosnan for being Bond.

Second, there's not too many unbelievable gadget (I love this one, cos I believe an agent should use everything around him not only given or provided.

Third, for you who love thrilling action, this movie gives you what you really want. From beginning, till end most of it is thrilling, though some part you'll find it quite boring.

Last but not least, I thought that this movie and the Casino Royale at least has a more dramatic storyline that I can follow, which I didn't find in most of the 007 before.

However, I thought that I couldn't catch some part of the movie. Maybe it caused by the Brit accents or some quite uncatchable words or maybe I just don't get it like other movies.

Well, 007 played by Craid is much cooler than Brosnan's one. I like the Casino Royale and this one, nice stuffs and I can't wait for the next one.

Disappointed for the Service of Multimedia Corporation, Once Led by Billy Sindoro

Today 8 November 2008, I supposed to have new internet connection installed in my house. But one recognized newly established internet provider, whose president director involved in corruption case lately, has disappointed me. Well maybe I’d share the chronology first.

In beginning October, I started thinking to change my internet connection provided by Telkomsel, through Telkomsel Flash, into one provided by the disappointing one, let’s call this FM. I thought to change because the wireless internet connection didn’t render a excellent service for most of the disconnection, the inconvenience for the setting in my mobile modem, and the not-helping customer service officers.

At first, I considered picking FM or Telkom Speedy, another service provided by the government-owned corp. I was considering Speedy because its promotion which allows the users to have free-charge internet connection from 8 P.M. till 8 A.M. (if I’m not wrong). However, after asking several friends that have trouble with Speedy, I pick the FM one which had been incessantly recommended by most of my friends.

Hastily, I called the CSO of FM and asked to get installation. To tell you, to get one I had to have more than one phone call—it takes several—for the irresponsiveness of the CSOs. Well let’s say that the phone calls didn’t really bother me, but only to remind you some of their disappointing services. The next ones are getting interesting and disappointing. Well after some agreements that I’ll take the package 512 kbps, I’ll buy modem from them, and I’ll wait for the appointment-for-installation call, commonly, I waited the processes to be completed (one of those are waiting the available modem).

At beginning November, or perhaps late October, I was called to confirm the package which I subscribed and to tell me the schedule for installation. I was told that I will have their technicians at my home on Saturday, 8 November 2008—today. My reaction is quite happy then because it’s all expected. To make sure, because they were not calling me back to reconfirm, initiatively I called them yesterday, 7 November 2008. Well the CSO said that all set and she told me that the installation will take place from 3.00 P.M. till 5.30 P.M., thus I was happy to hear that. For that information, I was certainly cancelled my entire schedule on 8 November, reunion with my old friends, accompanying my mother to go to San Diego Hills, and some other schedules.

Today, I went along the day according to the plan. Well around 2 P.M., I drove my sister to training course. Well, the traffic quite jammed so I was trying to get home pretty fast to catch the 3 P.M. For that, I was being reckless while driving that causing an accident with motorbike. Well part of it is my faulty, but I believe the other part of it is caused by my eagerness to respect their professionalism.

Back to topic, surprised, I found that none was coming and none was calling. Well I thought that might be late caused by the traffic jam so I was waiting then. Two hours passed, I called the CSO of FM. Very shockingly, and he told me that my installation had been rescheduled. I am really disappointed till now how could they not telling me at least at the morning. The fact is that they didn’t call me. And I believe that the CSO didn’t ask for apologize. This is very disappointing of one recognized internet provider that was led by Billy Sindoro. If it is not caused by their well known reputation, I might have switched. It’s just too bad.

Indonesian post: Susu Untuk Penderita Osteoporosis (Email Forward)

Well now I'll post an email that I received from my sister, and I'll post it in Bahasa:

Dokter dan ahli gizi pada umumnya menyarankan pasiennya yang menderita osteoporosis untuk mengonsumsi lebih banyak susu dan produk susu lainnya karena mengandung kalsium tinggi. Kedengarannya cukup masuk diakal, tetapi tidak akan berhasil. Orang Amerika dan Eropa Utara mengonsumsi 800 mg - 1200 mg kalsium sehari, tapi tetap saja mereka lebih menderita osteoporosis daripada orang Asia dan Afrika yang mengonsumsi 300 mg - 500 mg kalsium per hari.

Penyebab utama osteopororis adalah terlalu banyak mengonsumsi acidic yang berasal dari daging, gula dan bahan-bahan yang mengandung kimia.

Untuk menetralisir aciditas tersebut, tubuh mengambil kalsium (alkalin) dari tulang. Sehingga masalah osteoporosis bukanlah bahwa seseorang itu tidak cukup memakan kalsium.

Masalahnya adalah mereka kehilangan kalsium. Dengan demikian, mengasup lebih banyak kalsium ke dalam tubuh bukanlah jawabannya, karena Anda bisa kehilangan lebih banyak daripada yang Anda asup (misalnya dengan tetap memakan daging, gula, dan bahan-bahan kimia lainnya).

Apabila ektra kalsium ini berasal dari makanan yang mengandung protein tinggi seperti susu, keju dan es krim, itu akan memperburuk keadaan. karena makanan ini adalah pembentuk acid. Makanan-makanan ini menyebabkan tubuh kehilangan banyak kalsium.

Plurk that I lurk

These two or three months, you can say that I’m addicted to Plurk. Plurk is an online social journal. It’s quite like “comments” / “shout out” in Friendster or Facebook in a way that you can post your status, what you think, what you do, or whatsoever and you can do it easily and fast. But it also likes a blog in a way that in Plurk you are expected to submit a “smart” Plurk and people who see your Plurk can post comments. It means that for example you say “Obama has won the election. How that would affect us?” so you’re not expected to say something short and meaningless (though it is allowed) which might not attract people comments. The reason I conclude that Plurk expecting the smart one, because people can post comments more than three times in a row—the anti-flooding rule.

However, Plurk is like mass conference in Yahoo Messenger, MSN, or any other providers in way that Plurk is updated in real time basis. Besides, Plurk is quite identical with other chatting providers in way that the graphical interface/display/web layout is so simple and more like a timeline so that you don’t have to be bothered by complicated applications or features like in Friendster or Facebook.

Maybe you are still confused what is Plurk. Well maybe you can visit www.plurk.com, and make account. And I bet you still wonder why I can be addicted to Plurk. Frankly, the reason for me opening Plurk day and night is that I hope can get update from my friends. I believe all of us sometimes get busy by works and we only get connected or talk with people that physically around us. Today, the internet and the hardware (cell phones, notebooks, PCs) has supported us to get connected to the world including our friends. For example, from Plurk I know that my friend has been in relationship, or I know that there’s job vacancy in his office, or I know the latest gossip on TV which I might miss.

One other feature is Karma. Karma is like a measuring unit to show how active you’re in Plurk. It ranges from 0 to 100. Karma will increase if you routinely update profiles and plurks, comment, using emoticon, share links, pictures, Youtube videos, or do whatever fun in Plurk. On the other side, Karma will decrease if you get rejected, blocked by other Plurkers, if you don’t do the “dos” mentioned routinely. I have experience that my friend ever wasn’t active for 3 weeks or 1 month and her karma become 0. Probably you have questions, “So what with Karma?”. Well not only as a measuring unit, by having higher Karma you can have more emoticons to splash more fun in your Plurk. You can also enjoy other features like changing your display name, changing the Plurk Buddy, and some others.

The Gas Price is Down

Just now at approx. 5.15 PM, I watched MetroTV Breaking News, one of the national TV in Indonesia, and it showed the conversation of Eva Julianti, the news anchor, with Andi Malarangeng, the president's public speaker. The conversation was about the meeting held and attended by President Yudhoyono and also led by Sri Mulyani, the Minister of Finance besides the Coordinator Minister of Economics.

In that meeting, Sri Mulyani said that the Premium gas price is set down to Rp 5,500.00 from Rp 6,000.00. She said that the decrease in Premium price was considering the decrease in international oil price which was resulted from the global economic crisis. The reporters of MetroTV, that present on the meeting, said that only premium-type gas price reduced because government considered the association's and most of party's suggestion.

She also said that government will review this policy of price decreasing every month in response to the international oil price. If there is a change in global gas price, government will acts toward it while considering the currency and Indonesia's usage volume of gas.

It was noticed that Indonesia's gas price is one of the lowest price in the Asia. This might trigger illegal acts which the perpetrators will sell Indonesia's gas to the other countries. So from the illegal acts point of view, Sri Mulyani said that government will enforce the law to stop the perpetrators' acts. Moreover, she said that the value of the transfer is too low or even none that makes it seems impossible to commit.

Concluded, government has decrease the gas price as the reaction from the decrease in global oil price from Rp 6,000.00 to Rp 5,500.00. But I think the effect might take times and there will be lag time of implementing the policy. And in my opinion consumer goods price, which already going up for the last months, might not go down easily especially only the premium gas price reduced. But after all I hope government will maintain the economics well while enforcing the law, besides paying attention only to the governor elections.

Obama Wins The 44th US Presidential Election

Yesterday approx. 11.15 AM in my country's time (Indonesia), I saw the TV and found out that Obama had won the election. First, I'd give congratulations for the winning of course.

Well winning was somehow expected by most of the world's. Their reasons were mostly because of that Obama was believed can bring a change for the US. In Indonesia, most people were just dripped in euphoria. I don't exactly know the reason, but maybe Indonesian hopes that Obama will remember Indonesia as his childhood living place. And for that reason, Indonesia and the US will flourish a better relationship.

However, my position is on the economics point of view. Since the first time, I didn't expect either McCain or Obama to be the 44th Presidents of the United States. My biggest concern is on the economics. The election had come in very (I don't know whether) good or bad time because the economic crisis has escalated even more. I hope Obama's policies are going to come true. Moreover, I heard that Obama has a great supporters since these people, like Mr. Buffet, Mr. Galston, Mr. Summers, and others that had worked with Bill Clinton at the hard time also.
So well then, I think I can rely on Obama's policy. And I hope at least in 2 year, this economic crisis will diminish and be gone.

To conclude, I just can make a wish that Obama will work hard to maintain and recover things that has just been turning upside down in Bush Jr.'s leadership. And I'm not hoping much that Obama will give more attention on Indonesia, but at least he puts his attention on the world, because Indonesia's connected to and part of the world, so as long as the world comes around better, Indonesia will do just fine at least now.
